Forum Editing Functions broken
#1
Kay and I already pointed it out in 2 threads, but, just so it's seen, most of the embed/edit functions are broken and 'undefined'. This is what happens:

[undefined=undefined][/undefined]

Which functions in particular are you talking about and is this something which has previously worked and is now broken, or has it always been a problem?

I haven't noticed any issues with anything of this nature but I'll look into it at some point this week. I little more info would be appreciated though.

Sorry about the OP, wrote it while I was going out yesterday.

Things like the YouTube embed, italic, bold, underline, align text, the whole bunch in the editing window.

Would be sweet if you could look into it.

Testy de test

Hmm well it appears to work just fine for me, unless I'm misunderstanding the issue. All of the tags seem to work in fact, including youtube.

The only changes we've ever made even remotely connected to this area is adding a few new tags for spoilers and other similar features the board lacked by default, but that was done right when the site was first starting out so they definitely aren't causing any issues. I had a quick look through some settings and I can't find anything which would cause this problem.

All I can think of is it being some form of client side issue with your browser. Perhaps you should try the site in another browser or clear out your cache.

Hmm, strange, you're right, on Chrome it works without a problem.

Maybe it's Firefox related, since Kay had it too.

Sorry & thanks. :p

Chrome is superior! When exactly did you notice issues with it? Only thing I've really changed recently is adding the nsfw stuff. I'll try and fix this when I get a little more time because as much as I love chrome I know how annoying it is to be forced to use something other than your preferred browser Big Grin

Well I can guarantee without even testing that it works as it should in everything, except Firefox which I have never tested because Firefox stopped being good years ago. I'm sure it has a few hiccups in IE (what doesn't Tongue) but I imagine it still runs better than in Firefox.

I used to hate Chrome too people, but if you aren't using Opera then you should be using Chrome. It's quicker, far more simplistic and I've never had a single problem or crash with it. A quick install, grab a few essential addons like adblock and there really is no better alternative. The interface grows on you. Firefox on the other hand I would never recommend to anyone unless a site specifically required a Firefox plugin. Hell, on my laptop right clicking doesn't work in Firefox, period.

Anyway if it's not working in FF then its either a problem with Firefox itself (And coming from a web dev student I'd say this is most likely) or its something which is unsupported by MyBB. I highly doubt anything has suddenly broken on our end. The last time our version of MyBB was updated would've been a few months ago at the very least if I'm not mistaken, so if it's taken this long for people to notice issues then it's even less likely to be an issue with MyBB.

All I can say is grab either Chrome, Opera or Safari. All are better than Firefox, even Safari which just shows how bad Firefox is these days. Tongue If you haven't used Opera before I'd recommend you give it a go, its definitely my favorite of the bunch.

Old stats now but still, shows Firefox has never been on top of things Tongue

I like the way FF feels way more compared to other browsers, especially when it comes to burkmarks. I don't mind Chrome, but couldn't use it as a main browser.

P.S. Damn that bench is old, FF 3 ? Big Grin

IE still is on top obviously, I mean lurk at it, it has a higher score!!1
