New tool coming out god knows when
#1
Yeah honestly no idea when I will finish it and release it but it is in development and could be finished in a day if I got the time and I can be bothered.

Anyway its called "Director Cam", Will allow you to freely move inside SWG without a developer flagging you to activate the real free cam.

Will just be a active and then you just move using regular movement and mouse and you will "go up and down" based on the pitch of the camera.

I will have to look into the whole possible wall hack business associated with it and I might do it a different method still even thought the method I got in my head is easily done now I want it so it can't be exploited.

Woo, free camera like in strategy games, I love this.
But yeah I can see how it would look like a hack/exploit, imagine viewing other players through walls a hundred meters away, see where I'm getting at... PVP, it's always so serious business.

But since the viewing limit or whatever it's called is server side, I don't know if it would make a big difference.

I film a lot of ingame stuff so this is a tool of great interest to me. Lack of movement freedom has always been an issue for those into videos. Can't wait! Big Grin

No I got it so it moves your character as well.
So you cant exploit it like that but there is "wall hack" is in run through walls and all that, Will be a way to sort that out somehow.

Wait so your character moves as well? Standing still but moving? O_o
People could teleport with that. :O

Or I'm not getting it. Big Grin

You login, go to my tool enable free cam.
Camera will lock in (Hopefully) to first person on your character and will move around freely in space. Players will still see you moving fine correct coordinates etc. The only issue is collision will get disabled which means you may see players run through buildings. No teleporting features will be involved. By having free moving with your character attached it means it will update it so you can see new objects load etc as you move around.

Ohh I see now.
Basically no collisions at all, that reminds me of the Gamebryo "tfc" command that toggles free camera and you can move freely and walk through buildings, with all collisions gone lol, it's weird in 3rd person though as it looks like you're walking in the air.
Loved using it in Fallout 3/New Vegas when I got stuck under a rock or when I was too lazy and wanted to access a roof more easily lol.

Other players would see you walk normally on the ground, and through walls, that's where people will call hax.

That reminds me of when I switched terrain files with Naboo and Tatooine, Toon 1 could see Toon 2 walk in the air, and after a while Toon 2 would sync and look like it's walking on the ground, even if on my second client Toon 2 was at least 10 feet above lol.

yeah exactly how this will work.
I will be working on forcing it to be "always" first person know how to do it but its not hard to use scroll wheel to get out of it, just looking at different ways I can do it. Going to see if I can "remove" your from seeing your player I cant remember where the trigger is for that I remember the trigger for everything but not just your own player.

I'm looking forward to whatever you have in store, it's always good to try new things.
That would indeed help with taking videos, but I'm wondering how it'll work once the hardcore srs PVPers get their hands on it. :/
They'll use that to exploit and the Devs/Staff will point their fingers at you again lol.

Just the shell (Thats not the camera in action just got it stating how many Creatures/Vehicles/Npcs/Players are in the area, I do not know if anything other then those 4 affect it)

It will not affect PvP until people use it to run into walls etc HOWEVER they will have to keep it TURNED ON, to run into walls and that.
While its TURNED ON you will be forced in First Person AND no HUD AND possibly a speed DECREASE (Movement Speed)

There will be a hotkey to turn it on and off.
Due to how the "wall hack" section of it works, if you run into a wall when its turned on and then turn it off you get KICKED out of the wall back to the ORIGINAL ENTRY POINT of the wall.

Just a bit of information on how it works. I hope that when it is released no PvPers use it.
