Version for SWGReborn?
#1
I have been playing the SWGReborn and I realized that the installers for the mods don't support it. Is it for SWGEmu only? TY.

ModTheGalaxy does not support servers or groups using illegally obtained source code.

#3
So your saying they illegally obtained it to maintain their emulator?

It's not an emulator, it's purely illegally obtained actual SOE source code from early 2010. It's been publicly leaked earlier this year. SWGReborn isn't anything special, just one of the few or only stupid enough to go and host a public server with it.

The leak stems from SWGReveniens, the 'group' that obtained it more than a year prior to it ever appearing public.

Funny thing SWGReborn was published on "http://massivelyop.com/2015/09/27/the-mop-up-a-rebirth-for-star-wars-galaxies/" as being an emulator lol! I almost died laughing when I read all the comments about how it is illegal code. Like Timbab said they are a bunch of idiots trying to get a quick fix. On code that was meant to be ran on multiple servers "chat server" "login server". Trying to make it work on a single machine. Stick with SWGEmu. They are doing it the right way, and its not using stolen code.

N o offense but The SWGEmu server is always broken, with no one but former Pre-CU's standing around starport talking about the good old days and how their characters were such edgelords of uberness. No offense.

Yeah, strange that it was labeled an emulator even though it's fairly common knowledge what they're running. But 'journalism' is hard these days.

I don't know what you've been playing, but SWGEmu is far from broken, that said, it also isn't complete yet. If you want to talk about edgelords, people desperately trying to play on or get the source servers to work are nothing but that, looking for their quick fix without any regards for the decade old scene.

Regardless of personal opinion, bottom line is that illegal servers aren't supported, nor is ModTheGalaxy a platform to advocate for it. Since the closure of live SWG, this site is and remains purely for the emulation scene.
